Reserve before you remove
Use the NatureScape rebate calculator and reserve your project before removing any turf. Projects outside the 250 to 5,000 square foot range should contact the Water Efficiency Department at (949) 448-4025 or conservation@mnwd.com first.

Design with California natives
Plan a conversion of living turf to California native, low-water, or very-low-water plants. Use the 50% design fee discount if you hire a designer. Keep the project between 250 and 5,000 square feet.

Install and document
Remove the turf, install the plants, and take after photos. Keep itemized receipts, including design fees.

Submit and get paid
Submit your after photos and documentation to receive $3 per square foot plus 50% off design fees. You can also claim the regional MWDOC/MWD rebate on the same project.
