How to Apply for Novato, California Water Rebates

Get pre-qualified first
Call the NMWD Water Conservation Office at (415) 761-8944 or email to get pre-qualified. All projects must be approved in advance, so do not remove any lawn yet.

Get advance approval
Submit your project details and wait for written approval to begin. As a condition, you agree not to re-install irrigated turf in the project area.

Convert and document
Convert the lawn to low-water landscaping. No synthetic turf, pools, patios, or decks count. Take after photos and keep itemized receipts.

Submit for the rebate
Send your photos and receipts to receive up to $1.50 per square foot, capped at $1,500 for single-family homes.
