Attend the free workshop before anything else. Rain gardens pay $22 per sq ft and permeable pavers pay $20 per sq ft, each up to $2,500. The rain barrel is installed free.

Attend the free workshop
Register for and complete the free required virtual workshop. It covers stormwater management, the Rain Check tools, and the installation process. Nothing moves forward until this is done.

Schedule your site visit
The Pennsylvania Horticultural Society sets up a property assessment. Plan to be present for about one to one and a half hours while a contractor runs an infiltration test and prepares the design.

Install through PHS
PHS contractors install the approved tool to Philadelphia Water Department stormwater standards. The rebate is applied as a reduced project cost, and the rain barrel is installed free.
The workshop and site visit come before any installation. Skipping the workshop is what stalls most applications.
