    Get the Valley Water Notice to Proceed

    Apply to the regional Santa Clara Valley Water landscape conversion rebate first and wait for a written Notice to Proceed. Do not remove any lawn until you have it.

    Register the city bonus

    Sign up for the City of Santa Clara lawn conversion bonus through the city rebates page so the $4 per square foot stacks on top.

    Convert, then submit to both

    Replace the lawn with low-water landscaping. No artificial turf or plastic weed barrier. Submit to both Valley Water and the City to receive the full stacked rebate.

The order matters: Valley Water Notice to Proceed first, then remove the lawn. Santa Clara adds $4 per sq ft on top of the regional rebate.
