How to Apply for Sarasota, Florida Water Rebates
Apply and get a Notice to Proceed before you build. Rebates run $50 to $5,000 by practice. Applications are accepted October 1 through June 1, and projects must finish within 60 days of approval.

Confirm eligibility and apply in the window
Make sure you own the property and it sits inside the Stormwater Environmental Utility service area, then apply at scgov.net/raincheck. Applications are accepted October 1 through June 1.

Get your site inspected and approved
The NEST Coordinator schedules a site inspection to review your goals and check the site for the practice you want. You receive a Notice to Proceed once the practice is approved.

Install within 60 days
After your Notice to Proceed, build the rain garden, planter, swale, or pervious surface within 60 days. Keep dated receipts and paid invoices.

Final inspection and rebate request
Pass the final inspection, then complete the Rebate Request Form. Rebate requests are due by September 1 of the qualifying year.
Sarasota approves projects before you build, so apply and wait for your Notice to Proceed first. The site inspection and the October-to-June window are what trip most people up.
