How to Apply for Castle Rock Water Rebates

   Apply online at mycr.org before removing any lawn

   Submit the xeriscape rebate application at mycr.org under Water Conservation. Include your Castle Rock Water account number, the planned conversion square footage, and a description of the proposed replacement plants. Do not start any work until you receive written pre-approval.

   Remove lawn and install xeriscape after receiving pre-approval

   Once you receive written pre-approval, remove the qualifying lawn and install drought-tolerant plants, mulch, and irrigation as planned. Photograph the project area before starting and after completion. Retain all receipts for plants, materials, and contractor work.

   You'll need:

   • Pre-approval confirmation from Castle Rock Water
   • Before-and-after photographs of the conversion area
   • Plant and material receipts

   Schedule a post-installation inspection and receive your rebate

   Contact Castle Rock Water to schedule the final inspection. The inspector will measure the converted area and verify plant species and coverage against the approved plant list. After the inspection passes, the $3.25/sq ft rebate is processed and issued.

Castle Rock Water Xeriscape Rebate: $3.25/sq ft

Castle Rock Water administers a residential xeriscape rebate of $3.25 per square foot for converting qualifying lawn to drought-tolerant landscaping. Projects must be between 400 and 1,500 square feet. At the minimum of 400 square feet the rebate is $1,300; at the maximum of 1,500 square feet the rebate is $4,875. Replacement landscaping must use water-wise plants from the Castle Rock approved plant list. Artificial turf does not qualify. Customers must apply through mycr.org and receive written pre-approval before removing any lawn; projects started without approval are ineligible. Funds are limited and awarded on a first-come, first-served basis.
