Marin Water (MMWD) runs its own Cash for Grass rebate, separate from the Bay Area regional programs. The base is $2.18 per square foot, rising to $3.68 per square foot for a sustainable "Best Practice" project, plus a $1 per square foot bonus if you add a rain garden, up to $4.68 per square foot. Residential projects are capped at 1,000 square feet.
