How to Get the Backyard Conservation Local Cost Share Rebate

What you get
The Campbell County Conservation District reimburses 75% of project cost, up to $500 per household per fiscal year (July 1 to June 30), for backyard conservation practices. Rain gardens, native grass and tree planting, pollinator gardens, and monarch waystations are named eligible practices, alongside rain barrels, composting, raised garden beds, invasive removal, and certified backyard wildlife habitat. Unusually for a Kentucky conservation district, the program is open to all landowners with no farm number requirement, and the district states that preference goes to landowners who are NOT eligible for other state and federal cost share programs. - Applicant must be, or must include, the property owner
- Projects must comply with county or city zoning ordinances and permitting requirements
Before you start
Do not remove turf or begin work before you have written approval. This program requires pre-approval. Starting early can disqualify the project even if everything else is correct.
