How to Get the Xeriscape Incentive Program (XIP)

What you get
$0.75 per square foot up to 1,000 sq ft ($750 max) per project. Additional native plant bonus of $0.25/sq ft (up to $1,000 total) when planting 80% or more native Colorado plants with 50% coverage at maturity. First-come, first-served.

Before you start
Do not remove turf or begin work before you have written approval. This program requires pre-approval. Starting early can disqualify the project even if everything else is correct.
Fort Collins also offers free sustainable landscape classes, sprinkler evaluations, and irrigation equipment rebates. Classes are optional for XIP; residential applicants must hold a customer meeting before starting turf removal.
