What you get
MSD offers $100 per downspout for disconnecting downspouts and redirecting water into yards, gardens, or rain barrels. Every Drop program provides reduced-cost installation assistance for rain gardens, rain barrels, native trees, and native plant gardens in the Beargrass Creek watershed. Volunteer-assisted installations.

- Be a Louisville MSD / Kentucky Waterways Alliance customer
- Property located in: Louisville, Jeffersontown, St. Matthews, Shively, Okolona
- Must be in Louisville MSD service area (Beargrass Creek watershed for Every Drop)
- Downspout disconnect: contact MSD for inspection and approval
- Every Drop: apply at everydrop.org/apply/ for rain garden or rain barrel installation
Before you start
Do not remove turf or begin work before you have written approval. This program requires pre-approval. Starting early can disqualify the project even if everything else is correct.

Submit your application to Louisville MSD / Kentucky Waterways Alliance and wait for written approval before you remove any turf or start work. Starting early is the most common reason a rebate is denied.

Replace your lawn with the qualifying landscaping, following the eligibility requirements above.
