How to Get the Plant Dane Rain Garden Reimbursement Rebate

What you get
Up to $50 reimbursement for native plants purchased through the Plant Dane Native Plant Program and planted in rain gardens, available only to residents who attend a Rain Garden Coaching session. MAMSWaP offers these 30-minute one-on-one coaching sessions once per year, in February/March; the sessions are open to all Dane County residents, but the $50 reimbursement is limited to residents of MAMSWaP communities. In 2026 the reimbursement was issued as a gift card.

- Be a Madison Area Municipal Stormwater Partnership (MAMSWaP) customer
- Property located in: Madison, Fitchburg, Middleton, Monona, Sun Prairie, Verona, Waunakee
- Must reside in a MAMSWaP participating community (reimbursement only; coaching sessions are open to all Dane County residents)
- Must attend a Rain Garden Coaching session, offered once a year in February/March
- Plants must be purchased through Plant Dane Native Plant Program
- Plants must be installed in a rain garden
- Coaching session carries a $20 fee (confirmed for 2027 by MAMSWaP program staff, 2026-08-12)
Before you start
Do not remove turf or begin work before you have written approval. This program requires pre-approval. Starting early can disqualify the project even if everything else is correct.
MAMSWaP communities include Madison and surrounding Dane County municipalities. Check cityofmadison.com for current session dates and registration.
