How to Get the Stormwater Environmental Grants Rebate

What you get
City of Mission Hills participates in the Johnson County Contain the Rain cost-share umbrella and publishes its own grant schedule: a 50% match up to $1,000 for native plantings in buffers or swales that receive runoff from a roof or paved area, 50% up to $1,000 each for cisterns and pervious pavement, 50% up to $150 per native tree (limit two), and 50% up to $75 per rain barrel (limit two). The application must be filed and approved before work begins, one grant is allowed per property per calendar year, and the owner takes on three years of maintenance responsibility with pre- and post-installation inspections (City of Mission Hills Stormwater Environmental Grants requirements, last verified August 2026).
