How to Get the Cash For Grass Rebate

What you get
Rebate of $2.00 per square foot of lawn converted, up to $2,000 for single-family residential (equivalent to about 1,000 square feet of lawn removed). Areas qualifying as rain gardens earn an extra $1.00 per square foot, which is exempt from the account maximum. Low-water climate-appropriate plants must cover at least 50% of the converted area at maturity; permeable hardscape is capped at 50%; pre- and post-inspection are required, and the lawn must not be removed before pre-inspection. Artificial turf does not qualify (City of Napa Water Division; last verified September 2026).
