How to Get the Turf Replacement Program
Snowmass Water and Sanitation District · Western Slope / Roaring Fork Valley, CO
What you get
Snowmass Water and Sanitation District rebates $2 per square foot of healthy cool season turf replaced with low-water plantings from the City of Aspen water-efficient landscaping guide, on up to 3,000 square feet per account. Areas converted to gravel or permeable hardscape earn $1 per square foot, capped at 1,000 square feet. The program is funded by a Colorado Water Conservation Board grant, funding is limited, and the rebate is applied to the water bill after a post-construction site visit. Projects must be completed by October 1, 2027.

Before you start
Do not remove turf or begin work before you have written approval. This program requires pre-approval. Starting early can disqualify the project even if everything else is correct.
Application window: Rolling while grant funds last; projects must be completed by October 1, 2027.
The rebate arrives as a credit on your water bill after the final site visit, not as a check. Contact Darrell Smith, Water Resources Manager, before you start.
