How to Get the Community Conservation Assistance Program (CCAP)

Reimburses 75% of approved best-management-practice costs (homeowner pays 25%) for backyard rain gardens, critical-area native planting, cisterns, and riparian buffers. The statewide NC CCAP delivered through the Wake County SWCD; single-family rain gardens carry a 5-year maintenance term. Distinct from the Durham County CCAP already in the directory (Wake County SWCD; last verified June 2026).

Do not remove turf or begin work before you have written approval. This program requires pre-approval. Starting early can disqualify the project even if everything else is correct.
