How to Get the Stormwater Best Management Practices Program

What you get

The City of Windsor Heights Stormwater Best Management Practices Program reimburses up to $1,000 per project for BMPs on private property (rain gardens, native plantings, bio-retention), or $75 for a rain barrel. As part of the metro-wide Rain Campaign, the City Council separately approved a 75% match up to $1,000 per property specifically for soil quality restoration projects. One project per property per fiscal year (City of Windsor Heights; last verified July 2026).

   Apply and get written approval first

   Submit your application to City of Windsor Heights and wait for written approval before you remove any turf or start work. Starting early is the most common reason a rebate is denied.
