How to Apply for Chattanooga, Tennessee Water Rebates
Apply before you start. Rain gardens up to $2,000, native SupportScapes up to $1,000, rain barrels $50 each (up to 10), and a five-year maintenance agreement.
Application Steps
- 1
Confirm eligibility
Make sure you live within Chattanooga city limits and are current on stormwater fees and property taxes before you apply.
Open the RainSmart Rewards page - 2
Apply before you start
Submit your application at mywaterways.org/rainsmart-yards and wait for approval. Starting work first disqualifies the project.
- 3
Install to the requirements
Build the rain garden or SupportScape. A native SupportScape needs at least seven distinct species and 15 or more specimens. Add rain barrels if you want the per-barrel rebate.
- 4
Sign and submit
Sign the five-year Homeowner Agreement and submit your receipts and photos to receive your rebate, up to $5,000 total across project types.
Pre-approval is the gate, and the SupportScape plant count is the detail people miss. Apply first, then plant at least seven native species.
