How to Apply for Salt Lake City, Utah Water Rebates
Apply on utahwatersavers.com and pass the initial site visit before removing any grass. $3 per sq ft, 200 sq ft minimum. Lawn must be living and currently on overhead spray. No artificial turf.

Check eligibility and size
Confirm your property is in the JVWCD service area, that your lawn is living and on overhead spray, and that the project is at least 200 square feet.

Apply and pass the initial site visit
Register on utahwatersavers.com, submit before photos and a landscape design, then schedule the initial site visit. Do not remove any grass until that visit is complete.
Open the Utah Water Savers portal - 3
Build to Localscapes standards
Convert the area with at least 50% perennial and shrub coverage at maturity, 3 to 4 inches of mulch, and drip irrigation on dedicated zones. No artificial turf or impervious hardscape.

Final inspection and payment
Pass the final inspection, sign the program agreement and a W-9, and receive $3 per square foot.
JVWCD verifies living, spray-irrigated lawn on site before approval, so apply and wait for the initial visit. Meeting the 50% perennial coverage and drip rules is what determines the payout.
