How to Apply for Fairfield, California Water Rebates

Apply before you remove
Read the program terms and submit the pre-approval application with photos of your existing turf. Do not remove anything until your Notice to Proceed arrives.

Wait for the Notice to Proceed
The agency reviews your application and issues a Notice to Proceed by email or mail. This is the document that protects your eligibility, so do not skip it.

Convert and document
Convert at least 300 sq ft of living turf within 120 days, using low-water plants and no artificial turf. Take after photos and keep receipts.

Submit for the rebate
Complete the post-inspection form to receive $1.50 per square foot, up to $1,500 (1,000 sq ft). A W-9 is required for rebates of $600 or more.
The Notice to Proceed is the gate. Apply with before photos and wait for written approval before you touch the lawn.
