How to Apply for Utah (statewide), Utah Water Rebates

Apply at utahwatersavers.com and pass the pre-project inspection before removing any grass. Up to $3 per sq ft, varies by city. Lawn must be living and maintained at the time you apply.

Application Steps

  1. 1

    Confirm your city and rate

Check that your city has adopted qualifying ordinances and note its per-square-foot rate. Over 60 communities participate and amounts run up to $3.

Open the Utah Water Savers program
  2. 2

Apply with photos and a plan

Register on utahwatersavers.com, add your property, and submit yard photos plus a landscape plan unique to your property. A professional design is not required.

Open the Utah Water Savers portal
  3. 3

    Pass the pre-project inspection

A conservation technician inspects your living, maintained lawn in person or virtually before you remove anything. Do not start work until that inspection is done.

  4. 4

Finish within a year and get paid

Complete the conversion within one year of approval, request the final site visit with after photos, and submit a W-9 to receive payment.

The statewide program inspects before you dig and gives you one year to finish, so apply and wait for the pre-project visit. Free Localscapes designs at localscapes.com can speed up the plan step.
