How to Apply for St. George, Utah Water Rebates

Apply and pass the pre-conversion site visit before starting. $2 per sq ft, 300 sq ft minimum, 50% living plant cover at maturity. The area carries a perpetual conservation easement.

Application Steps

  1. 1

    Confirm eligibility and size

Check that your property is in the WCWCD service area and that you have at least 300 square feet of grass to convert.

    Open the WELP page
  2. 2

Apply and pass the pre-conversion site visit

Apply through the WELP portal with photos of your existing grass, then pass the pre-conversion site visit. Starting before approval and that visit makes the conversion ineligible.

  3. 3

    Convert to water-efficient landscaping

Replace the grass with landscaping that reaches at least 50% living plant cover at maturity.

  4. 4

Submit, accept the easement, and get paid

Send after photos and itemized receipts, accept the perpetual conservation easement on the converted area, and receive $2 per square foot.

WELP disqualifies any project that starts before the pre-conversion site visit, so apply first. The perpetual conservation easement is the long-term commitment to weigh before you sign.
