Henderson, Nevada Water Conservation Rebates (2025 Guide)
Henderson residents can receive two separate payments for removing turf: the SNWA Water Smart Landscapes rebate (administered by the Southern Nevada Water Authority) and a supplemental bonus from the City of Henderson. You apply to SNWA first, then Henderson. The combined value can reach $5,575 or more depending on project size and trees planted.
How to Apply for Henderson Water Rebates
- 1
Confirm you are a Henderson Utility Services customer
Check your water bill. Henderson Utility Services must be your water provider for both rebates. Some Henderson addresses are served by LVVWD (Las Vegas Valley Water District) — LVVWD customers receive an additional $2 per square foot on top of the base SNWA rate but do not receive the Henderson city bonus.
- 2
Apply online at snwa.com and schedule the pre-conversion site visit
Submit the residential application at snwa.com/rebates/wsl. SNWA will schedule a pre-conversion inspection. Do not remove any turf before the inspector visits — conversions without prior SNWA approval are ineligible.

Once your SNWA rebate is confirmed, submit the City of Henderson supplemental rebate application at cityofhenderson.com. Include documentation of the SNWA approval and list any qualifying trees planted.

| SNWA Water Smart Landscapes | $5/sq ft (up to 10,000 sq ft), $2.50/sq ft after | Residential |
| City of Henderson Supplemental | $575 flat + $50/tree | Residential |
SNWA pays $5/sq ft (first 10,000 sq ft) to remove turf and replace it with desert landscaping. Henderson adds a $575 flat bonus plus $50 per new qualifying tree planted.
SNWA Water Smart Landscapes: $5/sq ft
The Southern Nevada Water Authority pays $5 per square foot for the first 10,000 square feet of qualifying turf removed from a residential property per fiscal year (July 1 through June 30). Turf beyond 10,000 square feet is rebated at $2.50 per square foot. Replacement landscaping must be desert-friendly — approved plants, decomposed granite, or other low-water ground cover. Artificial turf does not qualify. A pre-conversion site visit from SNWA is required before you remove any turf; converting without approval makes the project ineligible.
- Active SNWA-member water service to the property
- Single-family residential, multifamily, or HOA common area
- Pre-conversion site visit completed before removing turf
- Replace with SNWA-approved desert-friendly landscaping
- No artificial turf as replacement
City of Henderson Supplemental Rebate: $575 + $50/tree
After completing the SNWA rebate process, Henderson Utility Services customers can apply for an additional $575 flat bonus. For each new qualifying shade tree planted as part of the conversion, Henderson adds $50 per tree. You must have received your SNWA rebate approval before applying for the Henderson supplemental amount. The City of Henderson Rebate Programs page has the current application form.
- Must be a City of Henderson Utility Services water customer
- SNWA Water Smart Landscapes application must be completed first
- Trees must be approved species listed in the SNWA Tree Enhancement Program
