Nevada Water Rebates
Las Vegas, Nevada Water Rebates
Las Vegas Valley Water District (LVVWD) does not run a separate turf program. It adds $2 per square foot on top of the regional Southern Nevada Water Authority (SNWA) Water Smart Landscapes rebate. SNWA pays $5 per square foot and LVVWD adds $2, for a combined $7 per square foot on the first 10,000 square feet converted, then $4.50 per square foot beyond that. You reserve and apply through SNWA, and the LVVWD portion is funded by excessive-use charges.
+$2 / sq ft (combined $7)
Water Smart Landscapes Additional Rebate
Open the official program siteHow to apply
- Confirm you are an LVVWD residential customer
- Apply and reserve your project through SNWA at snwa.com before removing any grass
- Wait for written approval and a measured square footage from SNWA
- Remove the grass and install desert landscaping with drip irrigation and living plant coverage
- Pass the post-conversion inspection to receive the combined $7 per sq ft, including the LVVWD $2 supplement
What you'll need
- LVVWD account number
- SNWA reservation and approval confirmation
- Before photos of the existing grass
- After photos of the completed desert landscape
- Plant list or planting plan
Pollinator Patch can help: It picks Mojave Desert natives for the Las Vegas Valley, designs an HOA-friendly drip-irrigated layout that meets the living plant coverage rule, and assembles your before-photo and plant-list packet for the SNWA application.
Avoid these mistakes
- Don't remove your grass before you reserve the project through SNWA. Approval and a measured area come first, and starting early disqualifies the conversion.
- Don't expect the full $7 rate past 10,000 sq ft. The combined rate drops to $4.50 per square foot beyond the first 10,000 sq ft (Las Vegas Valley Water District conservation rebates, verified June 2026).
- Don't leave bare dirt or rely on rock alone. The conversion has to include living, drip-irrigated plants to count.
