North Fort Bend Water Authority Rebates: Houston Metro

The North Fort Bend Water Authority (NFBWA) offers up to $300 in water bill credits for residents of Fort Bend County. Qualifying purchases include native and adaptive plants, smart irrigation controllers, rain barrels, high-efficiency fixtures, and more. Not all water providers in the area participate — check eligibility at nfbwa.com before applying.

How to apply

  1. Verify eligibility. Enter your address at nfbwa.com. Not all Fort Bend providers participate.
  2. Make qualifying purchases. Native plants, smart irrigation, rain barrels, fixtures. Purchases from Jan 1 qualify.
  3. Save receipts and photos. Itemized receipts and installation photos required.
  4. Apply when program opens. Applications open March 1. Submit through your participating water provider.

NFBWA serves Fort Bend County through participating retail water providers. Sugar Land, Katy, Richmond, Rosenberg, Fulshear, and Simonton are in the area. Check nfbwa.com to confirm your provider participates.
Do native plants qualify?
Yes. Native and adaptive plants are explicitly eligible. NFBWA provides resources including the AgriLife Harris County native plant list.
Is this a rebate or a bill credit?
Water bill credit. The amount is applied to your water bill rather than a check. Up to $300 total per program year.
