Houston, Texas Water Rebates

Houston Public Works offers discounted rain barrels (sold twice yearly through the Green Building Resource Center), smart irrigation controller discounts via Rachio, and free water conservation items. The city does not offer a turf conversion or native landscaping rebate. Fort Bend County residents may qualify for up to $300 through the North Fort Bend Water Authority.

Houston Water Rebate FAQs

Does Houston have a turf conversion rebate?
No. Houston does not offer a cash rebate for replacing lawn with native plants. Rain barrel and smart irrigation discounts support water conservation.
What about Fort Bend County?
Residents of Sugar Land, Katy, and other Fort Bend cities may qualify for up to $300 through the North Fort Bend Water Authority. See our NFBWA guide.
