What you'll need

  • Your address and LCRA or utility account number
  • Square footage of turf removed (minimum 200 sq ft)
  • Itemized receipts showing cost and date
  • Before and after photos of the converted area
  • A W-9 if your total rebate is $600 or more

Pollinator Patch can help: It finds Leander natives for Edwards Plateau limestone soils, designs an HOA-friendly layout, and assembles a documentation packet to support your application.

Avoid these mistakes

  • Don't remove turf before LCRA approves your pre-application. Work started early may not qualify.
  • Don't miss the 90-day window. You have 90 days from finishing the work to submit the final application.
  • Don't convert less than 200 sq ft. That is the minimum healthy-turf area for the rebate.
  • Don't leave turf grass or automatic spray irrigation in the new bed. Drip irrigation is allowed.
  • Don't apply without itemized receipts and before and after photos, and include a W-9 if your total rebate is $600 or more.

Leander residents qualify for LCRA WaterSmart. No city-specific turf rebate, but LCRA covers the full conversion.
