How to Apply for Flagstaff, Arizona Water Rebates
Call for the initial inspection before you remove any lawn. $1.00 per square foot, at least 50% low-water plants, rock cover capped at 20%. Artificial turf and spray irrigation are not eligible.
Application Steps
- 1
Call for the initial inspection
Contact Flagstaff Water Conservation at (928) 213-2116 for the initial inspection and lawn measurement before you remove any lawn. You need an existing irrigated turf lawn to qualify.
Open the Flagstaff program page - 2
Plan and apply
Develop a site plan with low-water, ideally native, plants. At least 50% of the area must be low-water plants and rock cover stays under 20%. Submit your application with the approved site plan.
- 3
Convert with drip irrigation
Complete the conversion using drip irrigation only. Spray irrigation, artificial turf, and water features are not eligible.
- 4
Final inspection and credit
Schedule the final inspection. The rebate is issued at $1.00 per square foot as a credit on your water account. If your annual rebate totals $600 or more, it may be considered taxable income by the IRS.
Flagstaff requires the initial inspection and lawn measurement before you start, and a final inspection before the credit posts. Those two inspections are the steps people forget.
