How to Apply for LCRA WaterSmart Rebates

LCRA stacks with city programs. Round Rock, Pflugerville, and Cedar Park residents can combine LCRA with city rebates. Apply for pre-approval before starting work.

What You Will Need

  • Address and account number
  • Square footage of turf to be removed (min 200 sq ft)
  • Site photos showing existing turf
  • Itemized receipts showing cost and date of purchase
  • Before photos (required for turf conversion)
  • After photos showing completed work
  • Square footage measurement for turf areas
  • Itemized receipts
  • Before and after photos
  • W-9 (if total rebate is $600 or more)

Application Steps

    Confirm your water provider participates

    Cedar Park, Pflugerville, Round Rock, Leander, Lakeway, Bee Cave, and Dripping Springs typically qualify. Contact your utility or check the LCRA participating provider list to be sure.

    Create or log in to your LCRA WaterSmart account

    You need an account to submit the pre-approval form and the final rebate application. Account creation is free.

    Submit pre-approval before starting work (turf conversion only)

    Do not remove turf until LCRA approves your application. Pre-approval is not required for compost, mulch, irrigation, or soil testing. Typical review time is a few business days.

    Complete the work and gather documentation

    Once approved (or immediately for non-turf items), complete your project and collect everything you need for the rebate application.

    • Square footage measurement for turf areas

    Submit the final application within 90 days of completion

    Log in to water.lcra.org and submit your completed application. Rebates of $600 or more require a W-9 form. You have 90 days from project completion to apply.
