How to Apply for Phoenix, Arizona Water Rebates

Application Steps

   Submit an application with photos and square footage estimate at phoenix.gov

   Go to the Phoenix Water Services conservation incentives page and complete the Residential Grass Removal application. Include photographs of the existing grass showing the density and condition, the address, and your estimated square footage. Your application date determines your place in the first-come, first-served queue.

   • Phoenix Water Services account number
   • Property address (must be the account holder)
   • Photographs of existing grass (showing at least 75% live coverage)

   Receive your Notice to Proceed (NTP) from Phoenix Water Services

   After your application is reviewed and approved, Phoenix Water Services will issue a Notice to Proceed. Do not remove any grass before the NTP is issued. Once you receive the NTP, you have six months to complete the project. Contact wsd.incentives@phoenix.gov if you have questions about your application status.

   Remove the grass and install drought-tolerant landscaping

   After receiving the NTP, remove the qualifying grass and replace it with drought-tolerant plants, decomposed granite, or approved water-efficient materials. Photograph the project area before and after. Retain receipts for plants, materials, and contractor work. Complete within 6 months of the NTP date.

4. 4

   Submit completion documentation and receive the $2/sq ft rebate

   After completing the project, submit the post-completion documentation to Phoenix Water Services including the after photographs, measured square footage, and receipts. Phoenix will verify the project and process the $2/sq ft rebate payment.
