Navarretia sinistra is a small annual wildflower that forms compact, low-growing clumps in spring and summer. It produces delicate blooms from May through July and requires minimal water once established. As an annual, it completes its lifecycle in one growing season and may self-seed in favorable conditions.

In an HOA neighborhood

Alva Day'S Pincushionplant takes more care to keep looking intentional in a front yard. Maintenance level: low. Consider it for backyard or mid-zone beds rather than the street edge.

Works well in: backyard only.

  • Very small size may appear sparse in maintained landscapes
  • Annual lifecycle creates gaps when plants die back
  • Native wildflower appearance may be perceived as weedy
