Drummond's anemone is a delicate native wildflower that produces white, buttercup-like blooms on slender stems above low foliage. This compact perennial works well as a groundcover or accent plant in partially shaded areas. It blooms reliably from late spring through mid-summer.

In an HOA neighborhood

Drummond's Anemone takes more care to keep looking intentional in a front yard. Maintenance level: low. Consider it for backyard or mid-zone beds rather than the street edge.

Works well in: backyard only.

  • Very small stature may appear sparse in formal settings
  • Unknown dormancy behavior could create bare patches
  • Wildflower appearance may not meet landscaping expectations

Wildlife value

The flowers attract native bees and beetles during its extended bloom period. This native plant provides nectar resources when many other spring wildflowers have finished blooming.

Native range data from the USDA PLANTS Database and regional native plant society lists. Pollinator and host plant associations compiled from GBIF, iNaturalist, and published ecological literature.
