Fevertree is a rare native tree that produces showy white and pink bracts in spring and early summer. This medium-sized deciduous tree has an open, somewhat irregular canopy and prefers partially shaded, moist conditions.
In an HOA neighborhood
Fevertree takes more care to keep looking intentional in a front yard. Maintenance level: moderate. Consider it for backyard or mid-zone beds rather than the street edge.
Works well in: backyard only.
- Irregular growth habit appears unmanicured
- Loses leaves in winter creating bare appearance
- Large mature size may overwhelm typical residential lots
Wildlife value
The blooms attract bees and butterflies during the spring flowering period. As a native species, it also supports various native insects and provides habitat for birds.
Native range data from the USDA PLANTS Database and regional native plant society lists. Pollinator and host plant associations compiled from GBIF, iNaturalist, and published ecological literature.
