Draba incerta is a tiny native perennial that forms small, compact cushions close to the ground. It produces delicate clusters of small yellow or white flowers in spring and early summer, creating subtle seasonal interest in rock gardens or between stepping stones.

In an HOA neighborhood

Yellowstone Draba takes more care to keep looking intentional in a front yard. Maintenance level: low. Consider it for backyard or mid-zone beds rather than the street edge.

Works well in: backyard only.

  • Extremely small size makes it nearly invisible in typical landscaping
  • Can appear sparse or patchy in formal settings
  • May be mistaken for weeds due to its inconspicuous nature

Wildlife value

This diminutive plant provides nectar for small native bees and beetles during its spring to early summer bloom period.

Native range data from the USDA PLANTS Database and regional native plant society lists. Pollinator and host plant associations compiled from GBIF, iNaturalist, and published ecological literature.
