How to Get the Turfgrass Conversion Rebate

What you get

$1 per square foot for converting healthy, irrigated turfgrass to a qualifying drought-tolerant landscape (minimum 100 sq ft). Annual rebate limit is $500/yr combined across the utility conservation rebates (City of Boerne Water Conservation Rebate Program page, last verified June 2026).

   Apply and get written approval first

   Submit your application to City of Boerne (Boerne Utilities) and wait for written approval before you remove any turf or start work. Starting early is the most common reason a rebate is denied.
