How to Get the WaterSaver Landscape Coupon Rebate

What you get
Digital coupons redeemed at participating stores, not a cash rebate. The fall coupon is worth $150. Each coupon requires replacing at least 200 sq ft of grass and planting 15 approved plants. Up to 4 coupons per application window, with a lifetime limit of 8 per property. Fall applications run mid-June through October 15; spring applications run March 1 to April 30. - Be a San Antonio Water System (SAWS) customer
- Property located in: San Antonio
- Must be a SAWS residential water customer
- Remove at least 200 sq ft of grass per coupon
- Plant 15 new plants per coupon area
- Remove all automatic sprinklers or drip lines in the area
- Submit post-installation photos by November 15
Before you start
Do not remove turf or begin work before you have written approval. This program requires pre-approval. Starting early can disqualify the project even if everything else is correct.
Application window: Fall: Jun 10 – Oct 15; Spring: Mar 1 – Apr 30 (annually)
Coupons are seasonal, $125 in spring and $150 in fall, with up to 4 per year and a lifetime cap of 8 per property, and they open March 1 each year so it helps to apply early. 1-gallon ornamental trees are now eligible too.

How to apply for the WaterSaver Landscape Coupon
These are the steps this application actually takes.

Photograph the Area and Apply
Take photos of the lawn area where you will remove grass and irrigation, then apply online with your SAWS account number. Fall 2026 applications are open June 10 to October 15. Up to 4 coupons per app

Remove Grass and Irrigation

Photograph the finished bed and submit the post-installation photos through the program page. Photos are reviewed against the program criteria; there is no in-person inspection.
