Texas Water Rebates

Georgetown, Texas Water Rebates

Georgetown residents can stack up to $5,000 per year across multiple water conservation programs. This page covers every active rebate, what each pays, and what you need to qualify.

Common steps for every program in this guide

  1. Confirm you're a Georgetown Water customer. Rebates are only for Georgetown Utilities water customers.
  2. Get pre-approval where required. Native landscaping and tree rebates need pre-approval before you start work.
  3. Complete your project and keep receipts. Save itemized receipts and photos of before and after.
  4. Submit via Georgetown's online portal. Go to gtx.conservationrebates.com, Requests → Rebates.
  5. Allow 4–6 weeks for processing. Rebate arrives as a check by mail. Rebates of $600+ require a W-9.

Georgetown Water Rebate FAQs

Can I stack multiple Georgetown rebates?
Yes. Georgetown water customers can combine rebates up to $5,000 total per fiscal year (October 1–September 30). Texas Grown Native Landscaping (turf conversion), smart irrigation, rain barrel, and native tree rebates all count toward that cap.
Do I need a contractor or can I DIY?
DIYers qualify for Texas Grown Native Landscaping with receipts. Smart irrigation and rain barrel rebates typically require proof of purchase. Irrigation inspection requires a TCEQ-licensed irrigator. Native tree rebates need pre-approval.
Does my HOA affect my eligibility?
No. Rebate programs are offered by Georgetown Utilities, not your HOA. You can apply regardless of HOA status. Texas law also protects rainwater harvesting and water-efficient irrigation from HOA prohibition.
When does the Georgetown rebate fiscal year reset?
Georgetown's rebate fiscal year runs October 1 through September 30. Applications are accepted through September 15. Apply early; funds are first-come, first-served.
What if funding runs out before I apply?
Rebates are processed first-come, first-served. If funding runs out, your application may be waitlisted for the next fiscal year. Apply as soon as you have pre-approval and completed work.
Is rainwater harvesting legal in Texas?
Yes. Texas Property Code §202.007 protects your right to install rainwater harvesting systems. HOAs cannot prohibit them. The same law protects native plant gardens from HOA bans.
