Subalpine fleabane is a compact native perennial that produces cheerful daisy-like flowers with white petals and yellow centers from June through August. This mountain wildflower forms neat clumps and adapts well to part-sun conditions with moderate watering needs.

In an HOA neighborhood

Subalpine Fleabane takes more care to keep looking intentional in a front yard. Maintenance level: low. Consider it for backyard or mid-zone beds rather than the street edge.

Works well in: backyard only.

  • Appears too wild or weedy for formal landscapes
  • Unknown winter appearance may look untidy
  • Name contains 'fleabane' which sounds unappealing

Wildlife value

The abundant flowers attract native bees and butterflies throughout the summer blooming period. This plant provides important nectar sources for pollinators in mid-elevation gardens.

Native range data from the USDA PLANTS Database and regional native plant society lists. Pollinator and host plant associations compiled from GBIF, iNaturalist, and published ecological literature.
