Green crepis is a compact annual wildflower that produces small, bright yellow dandelion-like blooms from late spring through summer. This low-growing plant forms neat rosettes and thrives in sunny, dry conditions with minimal water requirements.

In an HOA neighborhood

Green Crepis takes more care to keep looking intentional in a front yard. Maintenance level: low. Consider it for backyard or mid-zone beds rather than the street edge.

Works well in: backyard only.

  • Resembles dandelions which many HOAs consider weeds
  • Annual nature creates gaps when plants die
  • Can self-seed unpredictably

Wildlife value

The cheerful yellow flowers attract bees and beneficial flies throughout the growing season. Its extended bloom period provides reliable nectar sources during summer months.

Native range data from the USDA PLANTS Database and regional native plant society lists. Pollinator and host plant associations compiled from GBIF, iNaturalist, and published ecological literature.
