King's sandwort is a low-growing perennial that forms compact mounds of small, narrow leaves topped with delicate white flowers from May through July. This drought-tolerant native thrives in full sun and requires minimal water once established. Its tidy, cushion-like growth habit makes it an excellent choice for rock gardens and dry slopes.

In an HOA neighborhood

King's Sandwort is an HOA-friendly choice. Maintenance level: low. Tidiness: 4 out of 5.

Works well in: front yard, foundation, street edge, mid zone.

Wildlife value

The small white flowers attract native bees and beetles during the summer blooming period. Its compact size provides shelter for small beneficial insects.

Native range data from the USDA PLANTS Database and regional native plant society lists. Pollinator and host plant associations compiled from GBIF, iNaturalist, and published ecological literature.
