Little prince's pine is a low-growing evergreen groundcover with waxy, toothed leaves arranged in small whorls. It produces delicate white to pink bell-shaped flowers in summer and maintains its attractive foliage year-round.

In an HOA neighborhood

Little Prince's Pine takes more care to keep looking intentional in a front yard. Maintenance level: low. Consider it for backyard or mid-zone beds rather than the street edge.

Works well in: backyard only.

  • Very small size may appear insignificant
  • Woodland appearance looks informal
  • May be mistaken for weeds by neighbors

Wildlife value

The summer flowers provide nectar for native bees and beetles. Its low growth habit can offer shelter for small ground-dwelling insects.

Native range data from the USDA PLANTS Database and regional native plant society lists. Pollinator and host plant associations compiled from GBIF, iNaturalist, and published ecological literature.
