Nash's blue-eyed grass is a compact perennial that forms neat clumps of narrow, grass-like foliage topped with small blue flowers in spring and early summer. Despite its name, it's actually related to irises rather than true grasses. This drought-tolerant native requires minimal care once established.

In an HOA neighborhood

Nash's Blue-eyed Grass is an HOA-friendly choice. Maintenance level: low. Tidiness: 4 out of 5.

Works well in: front yard, foundation, street edge, mid zone.

Wildlife value

The small blue flowers attract native bees and beetles during the spring blooming period. Its compact size makes it useful for supporting pollinators in smaller garden spaces.

Native range data from the USDA PLANTS Database and regional native plant society lists. Pollinator and host plant associations compiled from GBIF, iNaturalist, and published ecological literature.
