Dewdrop is a charming low-growing native groundcover that forms neat mats of heart-shaped leaves. This delicate woodland plant produces small white flowers in summer and thrives in partially shaded areas with consistent moisture.

In an HOA neighborhood

Robin Runaway takes more care to keep looking intentional in a front yard. Maintenance level: low. Consider it for backyard or mid-zone beds rather than the street edge.

Works well in: backyard only.

  • Very small stature may appear unintentional
  • Woodland appearance looks informal
  • Dies back completely in winter leaving bare spots

Wildlife value

The summer blooms attract native bees and beetles for pollination. The low-growing habit provides shelter for small ground-dwelling insects.

Native range data from the USDA PLANTS Database and regional native plant society lists. Pollinator and host plant associations compiled from GBIF, iNaturalist, and published ecological literature.
