Talus willowherb is a compact native perennial that forms small clumps with narrow leaves and produces delicate pink to purple flowers from summer into fall. This low-growing wildflower thrives in partially sunny spots with average moisture and naturally dies back in winter.

In an HOA neighborhood

Talus Willowherb takes more care to keep looking intentional in a front yard. Maintenance level: low. Consider it for backyard or mid-zone beds rather than the street edge.

Works well in: backyard only.

  • Small stature may appear weedy or unkempt
  • Deciduous nature leaves bare spots in winter
  • Unfamiliar appearance may be perceived as unintentional wildflower

Wildlife value

The summer-long blooms attract native bees and butterflies, providing nectar during the important late-season pollinator period.

Native range data from the USDA PLANTS Database and regional native plant society lists. Pollinator and host plant associations compiled from GBIF, iNaturalist, and published ecological literature.
