Bog saxifrage is a compact native perennial that forms neat clumps of basal leaves topped with clusters of small white flowers from May through July. This moisture-loving plant thrives in partial shade and consistently moist soils, making it ideal for boggy areas or water features.

In an HOA neighborhood

Bog Saxifrage takes more care to keep looking intentional in a front yard. Maintenance level: high. Consider it for backyard or mid-zone beds rather than the street edge.

Works well in: backyard only.

  • Requires consistently wet conditions that are uncommon in typical landscaping
  • May appear sparse or stressed without adequate moisture
  • Unknown leaf retention could create untidy winter appearance

Wildlife value

The small white flowers attract native bees and flies during the late spring and summer blooming period. Its compact size makes it a good nectar source for smaller pollinators.

Native range data from the USDA PLANTS Database and regional native plant society lists. Pollinator and host plant associations compiled from GBIF, iNaturalist, and published ecological literature.
