Draba oligosperma is a tiny alpine cushion plant that forms dense, low mats of small leaves. This native perennial produces clusters of small white or yellow flowers from May through July and thrives in full sun with minimal water once established.

In an HOA neighborhood

Few-Seeded Draba takes more care to keep looking intentional in a front yard. Maintenance level: low. Consider it for backyard or mid-zone beds rather than the street edge.

Works well in: backyard only.

  • Extremely small size may appear sparse in traditional landscaping
  • Alpine appearance looks too wild for most HOA standards
  • May go unnoticed or look incomplete in formal plantings

Wildlife value

This plant supports native bees and beetles during its spring and early summer blooming period. Its compact size makes it valuable for small pollinators in rock gardens and alpine settings.

Native range data from the USDA PLANTS Database and regional native plant society lists. Pollinator and host plant associations compiled from GBIF, iNaturalist, and published ecological literature.
