Sticky goldenrod is a compact native wildflower that produces bright yellow flower clusters from summer through early fall. This well-behaved perennial stays relatively small and forms neat clumps, making it easier to manage than some of its taller goldenrod relatives.

In an HOA neighborhood

Sticky Goldenrod is an HOA-friendly choice. Maintenance level: low. Tidiness: 3 out of 5.

Works well in: foundation, mid zone, backyard only.

  • May be confused with weedy goldenrods by uninformed neighbors
  • Dies back completely in winter leaving bare spots

Wildlife value

The cheerful yellow blooms attract bees, butterflies, and beetles during the crucial late-season pollinator period. This plant provides important nectar when many other flowers have finished blooming.

Native range data from the USDA PLANTS Database and regional native plant society lists. Pollinator and host plant associations compiled from GBIF, iNaturalist, and published ecological literature.
