Packera multilobata is a low-growing native wildflower with deeply lobed leaves and bright yellow daisy-like flowers. It blooms from May through July and forms compact clumps that work well as groundcover or in rock gardens. This hardy perennial thrives in full sun with moderate water needs.

In an HOA neighborhood

Lobeleaf Groundsel takes more care to keep looking intentional in a front yard. Maintenance level: low. Consider it for backyard or mid-zone beds rather than the street edge.

Works well in: backyard only.

  • Appears too wild or weedy for formal landscapes
  • Yellow daisy flowers may be seen as uncontrolled wildflowers
  • Unknown leaf retention creates uncertainty about winter appearance

Wildlife value

The bright yellow flowers attract bees, butterflies, and beetles during the long summer blooming period. This native plant provides important nectar sources for pollinators throughout the growing season.

Native range data from the USDA PLANTS Database and regional native plant society lists. Pollinator and host plant associations compiled from GBIF, iNaturalist, and published ecological literature.
