Mountain agoseris produces cheerful orange dandelion-like flowers on slender stems above low rosettes of narrow leaves. This compact native wildflower blooms throughout summer and thrives in sunny, dry conditions with minimal care.

In an HOA neighborhood

Mountain Agoseris takes more care to keep looking intentional in a front yard. Maintenance level: low. Consider it for backyard or mid-zone beds rather than the street edge.

Works well in: backyard only.

  • Resembles dandelions which many HOAs consider weeds
  • Can look sparse or weedy outside of bloom period
  • May self-seed and appear in unwanted locations

Wildlife value

The bright orange flowers attract native bees and butterflies during the summer blooming period. Seeds provide food for birds later in the season.

Native range data from the USDA PLANTS Database and regional native plant society lists. Pollinator and host plant associations compiled from GBIF, iNaturalist, and published ecological literature.
