Drummond's catchfly is a delicate annual wildflower with small white or pink flowers that bloom from May through July. This compact plant forms neat clumps and requires minimal water once established, making it well-suited for xeriscaping.

In an HOA neighborhood

Drummond'S Campion takes more care to keep looking intentional in a front yard. Maintenance level: low. Consider it for backyard or mid-zone beds rather than the street edge.

Works well in: backyard only.

  • Annual lifecycle means plants disappear entirely each winter
  • Small stature may appear sparse or incomplete in formal landscapes
  • Can look weedy or unkempt compared to traditional landscaping

Wildlife value

The flowers attract native bees and butterflies during the summer blooming period. As a native annual, it provides seasonal nectar sources for pollinators.

Native range data from the USDA PLANTS Database and regional native plant society lists. Pollinator and host plant associations compiled from GBIF, iNaturalist, and published ecological literature.
