Miami-mist is a delicate annual wildflower that produces clusters of small, pale blue to white flowers from April through June. This compact native grows 6-24 inches tall with soft, finely divided foliage that creates a light, airy texture in the garden. It prefers partial sun and average moisture conditions.

In an HOA neighborhood

Miami-mist takes more care to keep looking intentional in a front yard. Maintenance level: low. Consider it for backyard or mid-zone beds rather than the street edge.

Works well in: backyard only.

  • Very informal wildflower appearance
  • Dies back completely after blooming
  • May reseed unpredictably

Wildlife value

The flowers attract native bees and butterflies during its spring to early summer bloom period. As an annual, it provides nectar resources during an important time when many pollinators are most active.

Native range data from the USDA PLANTS Database and regional native plant society lists. Pollinator and host plant associations compiled from GBIF, iNaturalist, and published ecological literature.
